CBD Basics
How much CBD should I take?
This is a common question and the answer is different for everyone. Each person’s body will metabolize CBD differently depending on your age, weight, symptoms and tolerance. Some people will only need a few drops while others will need a full dropper several times per day. We recommend starting with a small amount and gradually add more until desired results are achieved.
• We recommend starting with 4 drops (1/4 dropper) twice daily, at least 8hrs apart and two hours before or after any medications. Hold this dose for one week and then increase if necessary to 8 drops (1/2 dropper.)
Will CBD make me feel High?
No, CBD will not make you feel high. Our products do not contain THC which is the molecule that binds to receptors in our brain and is the one responsible for the psychoactive effects of marijuana.
CBD will actually prevent some of the THC molecules from binding to the brain’s receptors (hence the reason why it’s often used to subdue the ‘paranoia’ effects of super-potent THC strains).
How does CBD work?
CBD functions by binding to cannabinoid receptors in the body’s endocannabinoid system. When activated, these receptors tell our bodies to turn on messages of pleasure and turn off messages of pain. They also regulate and balance our systems. Cannabinoid receptors have been found in virtually every cell and tissue type in the human body (hence the seemingly endless array of CBD uses).
What is the difference between ‘Full Spectrum’ CBD oil and CBD Isolate... does it matter?
Both CBD Isolate and Full Spectrum CBD Oil are good. CBD is just one of many Cannabinoids that exist and CBD Isolate is a very pure extraction that uses a special process to separate just the CBD from the plant mass. This leaves behind all impurities, toxins from the soil, and any other molds, pesticides or unwanted plant waxes & chlorophyll. CBD Isolate is usually in a powder or crystallite form and it is virtually tasteless and odorless. This makes it a perfect ingredient to infuse into oils or edibles.
Full Spectrum CBD is different in the way it’s produced and usually comes in the form of a pungent and thick oil. The process in which it is produced brings more of the plant with it. This includes CBD, CBN, CBG and a host of other useful cannabinoids. Unlike isolated cannabinoids, full-spectrum hemp oil contains about 90% CBD with an array of cannabinoids, as well as many essential vitamins and minerals, fatty acids, protein, chlorophyll, fiber, flavonoids, and terpenes. The flavor is also usually less pleasant is better suited for caplets or vaping.
Our products contain both CBD Isolate and Full Spectrum CBD Oil. We also add natural plant terpenes back in to assist with the Entourage Effect of the sum of the parts being greater than the whole.
