Using Cannabis & CBD to Battle Cancer
There is a ton of (often-conflicting) information out there on the internet about what cannabis can and cannot do, which can be difficult to sort through when you’re fighting something serious like cancer or an autoimmune condition. To further complicate the issue, people can have very unique reactions to cannabis. For many individuals the response is positive and healing and can result in a complete transformation. For others, not so much. Unfortunately, we can’t tell you for sure whether it will work for you, no one can since every person and degree of illness is unique. Luckily, there isn’t a great risk in experimenting with cannabis to see if it’s helpful for you so it’s easy (and sometimes pleasant) to give it a try. At the very least, your body should have some positive effects even if that means just countering some the side effects of conventional prescribed medications. In addition to letting cannabis do its thing, someone fighting a serious condition needs to make sure a few other things are in order so that the body can become the well oiled machine it needs to be to begin the healing process. (Note: We always recommend following your doctor’s advice as well as letting health professionals know about your use of CBD.)
Step 1. Try to remove excess sugar from your diet.
Sugar is like fuel for cancer cells. If you love sugar (like most people) get a few different substitutes like Stevia or Splenda to help sweeten up foods or coffee. This will also mean lowering carbs and processed foods which is probably the hardest part. Processed foods contain a lot of hidden sugars and preservative chemicals. Eating whole foods (organic if possible) with lots of veggies and lean meats is best for your good health and healing process. And something we know we should do anyway. :)
Step 2. Diet should be as high in Plants and low in Animals as possible.
Animal proteins can encourage cancer cell growth and plant proteins fight it. Veggies, Avocados, Beans & Nuts are great sources of replacement protein. Fresh fruits for snacks and fresh herbs for flavor. All these additional phytonutrients compliment the phytochemicals in the cannabis treatment.
Step 3: Raise body pH level. (Reduce Acid)
Cancer cells love high acidity levels. Lemon juice (yes, acidic lemon juice), Watermelon and even Baking Soda in a drink will work quickly to raise the body’s pH levels. Alkaline waters are also popular right now.
Step 4: Try to consume as much Cannabis Oil as possible over 3 to 6 months. (60 to 120 grams)
CBD Isolate by itself is great as it is a very healing cannabinoid, but a person fighting cancer needs a Full Spectrum oil so CBD, CBG, CBN, CBC & THC and all the other cannabinoids, flavonoids & terpenes can work together. They work best when they are together the way they would occur in nature thus achieving the entourage effect.
Cannabis Oil Dosage: Start with one drop 3 times per day, (Morning, mid-day and before bed.) Add a drop every week until you reach 1 gram per day. (1 gram or 1 ml equals about 8-9 drops, so 3 drops 3 times per day.) Continue at approx. 1 gram per day until your body has finished healing. This protocol is from the Rick Simpson method and is a widely accepted general guideline for treatment. Note, it may make you drowsy but this works out well since you need to be getting as much rest as you can to heal. You may also want to dial back certain pain medications since cannabis can amplify them. [more on CBD drug interactions]

How does cannabis kill cancer? (Quote from CBD International)
“Simply put, when THC connects to the CB1 or CB2 cannabinoid receptor sites on the cancer cell, it induces an increase in ceramide synthesis that leads to cell death. A normal cell does not produce ceramide when it is near THC; therefore it is not affected by the cannabinoid.
The reason the cancer cell dies is because there of a small shift in the mitochondria. The purpose of the mitochondria within a cell is to produce energy for the cell to use. As the ceramide is produced, it turns up the sphingolipid rheostat. This production increases the mitochondrial membrane permeability to cytochrome c, which is vital protein in energy synthesis. The cytochrome c is then pushed out of the mitochondria, which ultimately kills the source of energy for that particular cell.
The presence of ceramide leaves no possibility of cancer cell survival. This is because it causes genotoxic stress in the cancer cell that generates a protein call p53, which disrupts the calcium metabolism in the mitochondria. Ceramide also disrupts the cell’s digestive system that produces nutrients for all cell function, and actively inhibits pro-survival pathways.
The key to the cancer killing process is the accumulation of ceramide in the system. This means that by taking any amount of CBD and THC, at a steady rate over a period of time, the patient will keep metabolic pressure on these cancer cell death pathways.” – CBD International
