  • Make Your Own – Lots of dog parents make their own treats for Fido. These are often fresher and healthier and can be made with CBD plus other beneficial ingredients like veggies, herbal extracts, vitamins or even arthritis aids like glucosamine or chondroitin.

This can depend on the size of the dog, and the method you use to administer it. When CBD oil for dogs is dropped directly into your dog’s mouth, it could take effect in as little as 20 to 60 minutes.

If your pup takes the CBD as a dog treat, it can take a little longer, 45 to 90 minutes for it to get absorbed. This is because food takes longer to be digested before the CBD is absorbed into the bloodstream.

The length of its effectiveness also varies. Some people say it lasts up to 4 hours. Others have seen the effects in their dogs for as long as 9 hours. There are, of course, various reasons for this which include the size of your furry friend and the size of the dose administered.

Is CBD safe for dogs?

When looking for CBD oil for your dogs, avoid buying Hemp Seed Oil. This is not the same as CBD oil and is made from pressing hemp seeds. Although it has some nutritional value, it contains little to zero CBD.
