CBD stands for cannabidiol and is a natural compound found in hemp and cannabis plants. CBD extracted from hemp is known for having very low THC levels (less than .3%) making it perfect to share with pets. Leafwize Naturals CBD products do not produce intoxicating effects and will not produce a “high” in you or your pet.
The naturally-occurring cannabinoids found in the hemp plant (CBD, CBG, CBN, etc.) interact with all mammals’ endocannabinoid system of receptors which are located all over our bodies and in the central nervous system and digestive tract. Your pets’ cannabinoid receptors are responsible for keeping their body in a normal and balanced state. When a pet consumes CBD, it interacts with these internal receptors to trigger positive changes in mood, mobility and pain levels.

CBD for dogs with anxiety and pain
Anxiety and stress can be as common in dogs as it is in humans. Several things can trigger anxiety, such as loud, unfamiliar noises, strange new environments or just being left alone too long. Introducing new pets to older pets can also cause them stress and they lack the ability to talk to us about their woes.
Dogs commonly show symptoms of stress by barking, chewing furniture, destructive or aggressive behavior, and even peeing inside the house. CBD can often help alleviate these symptoms and make your pet feel more relaxed and calm.

This can depend on the size of the dog, and the method you use to administer it. When CBD oil for dogs is dropped directly into your dog’s mouth, it could take effect in as little as 20 to 60 minutes.
If your pup takes the CBD as a dog treat, it can take a little longer, 45 to 90 minutes for it to get absorbed. This is because food takes longer to be digested before the CBD is absorbed into the bloodstream.
The length of its effectiveness also varies. Some people say it lasts up to 4 hours. Others have seen the effects in their dogs for as long as 9 hours. There are, of course, various reasons for this which include the size of your furry friend and the size of the dose administered.
